Success Stories

Company: CIBC

Product: Electronic Presentment and Payment Service

One of Canadas largest banks, CIBC, uses a Business to Business Internet billing site for its Automotive Wholesale Products and Retail & Small Business Lending Divisions. Powered and operated by Roler, the site enables the delivery and payment of invoices and statements via the Internet.

These documents were traditionally printed and mailed by Roler on behalf of CIBC and those customers who do not wish to use the new Internet service will continue to be serviced this way.

However, initial indications promise an exceptionally high proportion of the existing customer base will elect to receive documents electronically - as much as 75%! Should this acceptance rate materialize, CIBC stands to make substantial cost savings and more importantly, will be able to service customers more efficiently. Customers will be able to process their payables faster and will be in better control of their interest costs.

The site enables customers to view not only current documents, but also archived documents. This allows customers to self-serve instead of engaging CIBC staff for routine tasks like document retrieval and faxing or mailing. However, when customers do contact their Customer Service Representative, they are looking at exactly the same document at the same time. Customers are, of course, only able to view those documents that relate to them. However, the access control system is in the hands of CIBC. The site is linked to the CIBC main site and has the same look and feel for a completely seamless customer experience.

This provides opportunities for cross selling and gives customers access to a more comprehensive product range. More direct promotional opportunity is afforded by the sites potential for web page personalization and direct marketing messaging facilities that accompany the bills and statements.

Company: Pace Savings & Credit Union

Product: i-Check Statement System

Designed for small to medium sized financial institutions, this revolutionary product will provide Credit Union customers with the ability to view statements with images of cleared checks over the web and/or receive paper versions via traditional mail.

Developed in cooperation with Contact Innovations Inc., Roler has enabled the automatic scanning of both front and back of checks to be integrated with statement production and distribution. Roler has been providing print/mail services and web services to the financial services industry for more than eight years.

The i-Check Statement System begins as an easy-to-use, scalable desktop or client/server check imaging system, which links directly with Rolers statement merging, mailing, Internet posting, and archival services. The i-check statement system is a cost-effective solution that saves time, reduces storage space, increases productivity, provides safe, long lasting storage of vital data, and makes it quick and easy for both Credit Union staff and customers to find information.

The Roler service bureau will merge the check image data with statement data to provide both traditional print/mail streams and Internet images for both customer self-serve use and archives. Saving postage, paper and envelope costs is only a part of the improved and faster service to Pace customers.

Jim Vasko, VP & CFO at Pace says "Roler contributes towards the achievement of our mission statement, by helping us provide innovative services to our members, using "state of the art" technology. The i-cheque statement system helps us to lower our costs, increase our efficiency, and maintain our position as a leader in our industry."

Company: Collectcorp

Product: Print and Mail Services

Collectcorp Inc., a large Canadian based debt collection company, has engaged Roler to print and mail collection letters for its Buffalo, NY subsidiary. This follows many years of experience with Rolers Canadian operations.

Collectcorps Graeme Stirrett, Executive Vice President of Operations had tried various other US outsource companies and decided to consolidate operations with one supplier.

"Roler was the obvious choice, their high standards of quality and reliability were well known to us, so we asked ourselves why we were dealing with anyone else.

Collectcorps US volumes are expected to grow substantially over the next few years and roler has proven itself to be flexible enough to handle this growth in stride."

Roler has several major debt collection companies as clients and has a good understanding of the industrys needs. Roger Le Roy, President of Roler remarks "we are very pleased to be given this further vote of confidence from one of our most valued clients.

We are confident also that Collectcorp will continue to rapidly expand and that we will be a part of that growth."

Company: Equifax Canada/CBCL

Product: Print and Mail Services

When Equifax Canada acquired Canadian Bonded Credits, the decision was made to outsource the printing and mailing of all collection letter activity to Roler.

Because this process is such an important part of the company’s business, the decision was only made after thorough investigation of other outsource players and after detailed investigation of Roler’s reputation with its clients.

Louis Fortin, who was spearheading the selection process for Equifax felt ‘fully satisfied that Roler would prove to be the right choice’. This was confirmed when, immediately after work commenced, Roler suggested improvements in the way that non-deliverable mail could be handled. Barcode printing and scanning of returned mail items had not been tried in the debt collection industry prior to this. Data entry activities will be eliminated and further issue of follow up communication to the wrong address will be stopped.
